COOLPAD COOL 1 launched at ₹13,999..

1.Coolpad launched the affordable dual-camera phone, the Cool 1, in India on Wednesday. The Coolpad Cool 1 is priced at Rs 13,999 and will be available on Amazon from January 5 in open sale.

2.Launched in collaboration with LeEco, Coolpad's Cool 1 was first unveiled in China in August. This came soon after LeEco acquired a controlling stake of 28.6 per cent in Coolpad. The USP of the phone is said to be its dual-camera setup.

3.It has two cameras on the rear -- dual 13-megapixel with phase detection autofocus and dualLED (dual tone) flash -- wherein one takes monochrome shots while the other takes photos in colour (RGB). The phone's software algorithm then merges both the images into one and creates the final photo. Ideally, the setup should entail in better low-light photos, much like it is in the case of the Huawei P9 and the Honor 8. The Cool 1, however, brings the dual-camera gimmickry to the affordable segment. The phone, in the current scenario, is the cheapest dual-camera toting device that you can buy in India right now. The phone can also record 4K videos, something that even the Huawei P9 (at around Rs 40,000) can't. On the front, the Cool 1 gives you an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 80-degree wide angle support.

4. The Cool 1, interestingly, is also quite well endowed in terms of other hardware specs. The phone comes with a full-metal unibody design and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and physical capacitive keys that are backlit. There's USB Type-C for charging and data-syncing and 4G LTE with VoLTE-support. The phone, however, doesn't support NFC and OTG. The dualSIM phone also does not support expandable storage. The Cool 1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and runs Android Marshmallow-based EUI, which is a custom skin built by LeEco. It comes with 4 gigs of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt memory. The phone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and also supports fast charging.

5.To recall, Coolpad had launched a phone called the Qiku Q Terra in collaboration with security software provider Qihoo 360 in December 2015. The Qiku Q Terra also came with a dual camera set-up -- 13-megapixel -- on the rear with autofocus and dualLED flash that worked on the same principle as the Cool1. The phone came with a massive 6-inch screen and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 under the hood..
